Reflections one week after release.

‘YOU INVITED IT IN’ released a week ago today. This release has been, by a long shot, my most successful release so far…

• YOU INVITED IT IN has topped various Amazon charts, and is still in the top 100 for a few different categories (which is amazing). The only times my books have even ranked that well in the Amazon categories before is when they were on free book deals.
• It currently has 63 Goodreads ratings (with a 4.7 star average). To put that into perspective, FOUND YOU has only just crossed 100 ratings a year and a half after release.
• In terms of royalties, I have tripled my most successful month to date, which is incredible given that YOU INVITED IT IN was released with only one week left of that month. I had 101 paperback pre-orders, and 40 eBook pre-orders (which is crazy to me!). And I’m still having a steady influx of orders and Kindle Unlimited page reads.
• I’m seeing the book pop up all over social media, which is really cool to see! On that note, please tag me in your posts, I LOVE seeing them.

What I’m finding really cool, is that with each release, I have a steady incline in readership. My books reach wider; my sales are higher. It validates to me that I’m doing something right. With each release, I learn loads. I’m figuring out what works for me, and what doesn’t. I’m incredibly lucky that I have such an amazing group of authors who I can reach out to with questions, and who are open with their own knowledge and experiences.

It is amazing to see YOU INVITED IT IN reaching readers, and being well-received. I’m now focusing all my attention on the release of BLOODY HELL: An Anthology of UK Indie Horror, which releases on August 1st. I’m trying something new with this release, building on what I learned from the release of YOU INVITED IT IN. This is my first anthology, and I’m hoping that it becomes a regular thing because I have absolutely loved collating it.
