Yesterday was my 30th birthday, which has thrust me into a reflective mood. Therefore, I thought it might be fun to share my top 30 books of the past 30 years, with no explanation as to why I’ve chosen each book (because we’d be here all day). There are MANY different reasons for selecting these books – some I think are incredibly well written, others have sentimental value, and all have shaped my life in some way or another.

In no particular order…

The Bone Collector by Jeffery Deaver

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

Bridget Jones’s Diary (the full series) by Helen Fielding

A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

The Shining by Stephen King

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

Harry Potter (the whole core series) by JK Rowling*

Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli

The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

The Ritual by Adam Nevill

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

If We Were Villains by ML Rio

Wanderers by Chuck Wendig

Crazy Rich Asians (the trilogy) by Kevin Kwan

The Ruins by Scott Smith

Sleeping Giants (The Themis Files trilogy) by Sylvain Neuvel

The Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood) series by Charlaine Harris

The Illuminae Files (trilogy) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

The Help by Kathryn Stockett

American Gods by Neil Gaiman

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

*I am in no way endorsing JK Rowling or her beliefs. Like many who grew up on Harry Potter, I am extremely disappointed by her actions.
